The Cranes Are Coming Back to Kearney: Community Invited to Support Cranes on Parade 4

Kearney’s beloved Cranes on Parade public art project is returning, bringing together local artists, businesses, and community supporters to celebrate one of Nebraska’s most iconic natural events.

Inspired by the annual migration of nearly 800,000 Sandhill Cranes through Central Nebraska, Cranes on Parade 4 will feature beautifully designed aluminum crane sculptures installed throughout Kearney’s business districts, creating a year-round celebration of art, nature, and community pride.

Rotary Hearts to Serve Pickleball Tournament

Each installation will feature a pair of artist-designed cranes mounted on light poles with sponsor recognition and interactive QR codes, encouraging residents and visitors to explore Kearney while supporting local businesses.

Organized by the Kearney Dawn Rotary Club, the project continues a tradition of using public art to enhance the community while supporting charitable initiatives and local organizations. This year’s project will directly benefit four outstanding local nonprofits: Family Advocacy Network, The SAFE Center, Kearney Children’s Museum, and Kearney Sustainable Housing, helping each organization continue its important work serving families and strengthening the Kearney community.

Businesses and organizations are now invited to sponsor a crane installation and become part of this signature Kearney attraction. Sponsorship opportunities include prominent recognition, long-term public visibility, and participation in a project that celebrates the region’s unique identity and vibrant arts community.

Community members interested in sponsoring a crane or learning more about the project can contact Tom Murphy at [email protected].

By supporting Cranes on Parade 4, sponsors and community members will help create a lasting public art experience while investing in local nonprofits, local artists, tourism, and the continued vitality of the Kearney community.
